Teledyne Brown Names Braun Vice President of DC Operations

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (June 3, 2005) - Teledyne Brown Engineering, Inc. (TBE) announced today that John A. Braun has been named vice president of its Washington DC operations effective immediately.

Braun is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of government affairs activities in the Washington DC area in support of Teledyne's business and customers. As the senior executive in Washington, Braun also has responsibility for management, facilities, and personnel.

"John has been a valuable asset to Teledyne Brown for nearly five years," said Jim Link, president, Teledyne Brown Engineering. "He understands Teledyne Brown's business, is well-respected in our nations' capitol and brings strong leadership skills to this valuable position. It's important to have an individual of John's caliber representing Teledyne Brown in Washington."

Before joining the company in 2001, Braun served on the legislative staff of Congressman Bud Cramer, a member of the House Committee on Appropriations, where he was the Congressman's principal advisor on defense appropriations issues.

Braun also served in the Pentagon as a Senior Policy Analyst in the National Security Policy Division of U.S. Air Force Headquarters and as a Congressional Analyst in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition. He currently serves as a First Lieutenant in the Judge Advocate General Corps of the Virginia Defense Force, a support unit of the Virginia Army National Guard.

Before relocating to DC, Braun worked as a Political Director for several local and state-wide political campaigns in Alabama.

Braun, a native of Huntsville, has a law degree from The Catholic University of America School of Law in Washington, DC and a BA in Political Science from the University of Alabama. He is also a graduate of the Institute on Comparative Political and Economic Systems, at Georgetown University.

John, his wife Mary, and son Andrew reside in Falls Church, Virginia.
