Teledyne Technologies Announces New
Thermoelectric Generator
LOS ANGELES - August 18, 2000 - Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE:TDY) announced today that its Energy Systems business unit has added the TELAN 3W thermoelectric generator to its family of power-generation products.
The TELAN 3W thermoelectric generator is a natural gas or liquid propane gas (LPG) fueled generator that provides 3 watts of electrical power at 12 volts. Housed in a corrosion-resistant, weather-tight aluminum case, it can perform in virtually all weather conditions.
"This generator has the capacity to produce high quality power with minimal lifetime maintenance, making it a reliable power source for today's smaller, less power-intensive metering and telemetry electronics," said Bamdad Bahar, general manager of Teledyne Energy Systems. "Due to its low cost of maintenance, it is a great replacement for solar- or battery-powered systems that require more frequent upkeep and repair."
With no moving parts, the TELAN 3W power system is ideal for remote locations where sunlight is unreliable or short-lived. Designed for easy installation and operation, the TELAN 3W generator can also be integrated with minimal training. Its solid state microprocessor provides reliable start-up at the flip of a switch.
Teledyne Technologies is a leading provider of sophisticated electronics and communications products, systems engineering solutions, and aerospace products and components, with operations in the United States, the United Kingdom and Mexico. Teledyne Energy Systems, located in Hunt Valley, MD provides on-site gas and power micro-generation systems.
