Teledyne Awarded $7.5M to Support NASA Test Laboratory

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – March 5, 2008 – Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY) announced today that its subsidiary, Teledyne Brown Engineering, Inc., in Huntsville, Ala., has been awarded a $7.5 million task order to provide engineering services to the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) Test Laboratory through September 19, 2010.

The Laboratory will be testing elements of the Ares launch vehicle. Teledyne Brown will be providing MSFC with engineering support, expert assessment and recommendations in several areas including the pressure systems certification. Teledyne Brown will also provide test conductors, engineers, modification, activation and operation of mechanical and electrical systems at Laboratory facilities and facility configuration control and change management documentation processes.

NASA is developing the Ares Launch vehicles to return humans to the moon, and later take them to Mars and beyond. Teledyne Brown is currently supporting development of the Roll Control System for Ares I-1, the rocket that will take future astronauts into orbit, as well as the development of the Ares I-1 integrated thermal model.
