Teledyne's Kevin J. Riley Receives Henry Levinstein Award

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - March 9, 2009 - Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE:TDY) announced today that Dr. Kevin J. Riley, President and General Manager of Teledyne Scientific & Imaging, LLC (TS&I), has been awarded the Henry Levinstein Award for his “outstanding technical and management contributions in the development of Focal Plane Arrays for the military sensing community and national defense.” Dr. Riley accepted the Levinstein award at the Military Sensing Symposia (MSS) held in Orlando, Fla., during February 23-27, 2009.

The MSS Detector Specialty Group, a forum of nationally recognized infrared technologists, selects the professional in recognition of their lifetime achievement in the technical management of infrared detector technology. The award is bestowed in honor of Dr. Henry Levinstein, 1919-1986, a professor at Syracuse University known for his pioneering work in the field of semiconductor physics relating to infrared detectors. His memory lives on in the legacy of this esteemed award. “As a former student of Dr. Levinstein it made it very special receiving this award named after him,” said Dr. Riley. The Henry Levinstein Award has previously recognized the outstanding contributions of two other TS&I employees. Dr. Joseph Longo, former Vice President & General Manager of Rockwell Science Center, received the award in 1987, and Dr. William Tennant, Chief Technologist, Teledyne Imaging Sensors, in 1993.
